Meetup REST API

A backend for a meetup app where anyone can browse events, and signed-in users can add, edit, or remove meetup listings.

Each meetup has a title, a short summary, and an address. Users register with an email and password, then log in to receive a token that lets them create listings, update individual details, or delete meetups. Viewing the list is open to everyone; any signed-in user can change any meetup. The API rejects incomplete or blank details, stores passwords as salted hashes, and saves accounts and meetups in local JSON files so they remain available after a restart. Built with Node.js and Express during online training with AI assistance and tested in Thunder Client. The walkthrough illustrates these actions, and the source includes instructions for running the API locally.

Monster Slayer

A turn-based battle game built from a plain-English brief, then expanded with difficulty levels and a leaderboard for the fastest wins.

Started as a Python game with a Tkinter window: choose a username, fight a monster using regular attacks, strong attacks, or healing, and try to win before your health reaches zero. Easy, Normal, and Hard change the recovery time between special actions. Each username keeps its best winning round count, saved in a text file. The live demo brings the same rules to the browser, with scores stored on the device and a text-file export. The original commented Python game is available to download from the demo.

Resume & Story Site

The first project from Udemy's "ChatGPT and Generative AI" โ€” built to practice prompt engineering, not just generate throwaway output. A resume page and a separate narrative "My Story" page.

Built as the first course project for Udemy's "ChatGPT and Generative AI," using it as a testbed for prompt engineering technique โ€” iterating on prompts to get a structured resume (experience, skills, education, selected work) and a separate four-chapter narrative page tracing the path from Navy electronic warfare through civilian technical roles to a Master's in Accounting and work at EY. Static HTML/CSS, no framework or backend. The link opens to the resume page โ€” use its own nav to reach "My Story."
